London, it's been amazing but it's time for us to leave you. Cue the tears! Okay not really, we were like, really excited to get out and start our next adventure in Scotland but oh boy was this last morning super stressful.
When you're an American with American credit cards and American bank accounts sometimes things like getting and paying for car insurance are a real hassle. Our credit/debit cards were getting blocked by the insurance companies payment processor which was a huge problem since our car was being delivered at 10AM that morning. At this point I had been up since like 6AM, freaking out because I didn't want us to have to drive 8 hours illegally frantically repacking all of our suitcases and shakily drinking cup after cup of disappointing coffee trying to calm down. Of course it all worked out thanks to Greg but I was still on edge!

After a bit of a delay, our new Benz was delivered. We somehow managed to pack all 6 suitcases in, dropped off the keys to our AirBnB and started our long car ride to Scotland.
Our original plan was to drive a few hours and stop somewhere in Manchester and then finish the trip the next day, but with so many hours of daylight here we decided to drive straight through, all 8+ hours. Greg did an amazing job for never having driven in the UK before. Our first stop for gas was actually once we had already made it to Scotland. Stopping at nothing other than a Shell station. Who knew they'd have Shell in the UK (It's the little things that amuse me!).
We booked a hotel in our new city, and made the rest of our journey. The scenery on the drive was beautiful. It never occurred to me that there'd be these massive windmills everywhere (please ignore the dirty window!).
Finally around 10PM we made it into the city of Dundee and checked in to our hotel room for the night. The hotel was just a block from our new apartment which gave us a nice opportunity to go on a short night walk and check out our new neighborhood. Even at night the view on the water is beautiful!

The next morning we met with our rental agency, paid our deposits and got the keys to our new apartment! We headed to TK Maxx to get some basics to get us through the next few days and just relaxed for the rest of the day. I can't wait for all the new adventures we're going to have over the next few months! It's going to be a blast!
