We just wanted to say Happy Easter to all of our Family, Friends and readers! Since the weather has been beautiful, sunny, and warm, we took a trip to the beach in the south of Fife and spent the day exploring! Here in on the UK mainland we get Friday and Monday off (Northern Ireland gets Monday and Tuesday) so we took the weekend to relax. I wouldn't normally make a post about going to the beach but I couldn't help but share this hilarious story about a certain noblewoman and her tower. What you see below, is Lady Janet Anstruther's Tower.

In a small town on the southern coast of the kingdom of Fife lies a small town known as Elie that sits atop a volcanic crag. Back in 1770, Lady Janet Anstruther of Elie had this tower built as a summer home. One of her favorite pastimes was taking a relaxing dip in the sea. Being a lady of modesty however, she would send a servant to the nearby town of Elie to ring a bell through the streets to let the townsfolk know that they better stay the hell away from the beach to protect her privacy, she would then head down to a cave below the tower, change and take her dip in the Ruby Bay! She was quite a character, and not a particularly nice one. Allegedly she also had the nearby village of Balclevie levelled because it ruined her view of Elie Ness. What an absolute delightful woman.

Fun fact: The water surrounding the tower is called Ruby Bay because of the garnet gemstones that would (and still do occasionally) wash ashore!

So that's the story of Lady Janet's Tower. It was a lovely Easter weekend in Scotland and we wish all of you could have been here with us!
