Now that we're settled in, we finally were able to host our first American visitor! Greg's mom and my wonderful Mother-In-Law, Bev, came to visit us for two weeks and we had a great time showing her how amazing and beautiful Scotland is!
Greg got up early in the morning and headed to Edinburgh Airport while I finished getting the house ready for her arrival. After a long journey travelling from Florida, through Amsterdam and finally arriving in Scotland, she finally made it and we had a chill afternoon before heading on a wild ride through the country!

We took her on a tour of St Andrews and had a delicious lunch at Mitchel's. It was the first time since we've been here that I've had real American bacon. The bacon here is basically ham and it's definitely underwhelming compared to it's stateside cousin.
We toured the campus and the castle cliffs and had a really enjoyable time. We ended our day doing a fair bit of shopping for souvenirs and such before heading home. I see a lot of St Andrews gifts in some peoples futures!

The next day, we headed to two of our favorite spots to do some antiquing, the Rait Antiques Center and the Scottish Antique & Arts Centre in Perthshire. We saw some sheep galloping through the fields and I picked up an amazing old book, The Charm of Sky The Winged Isle published in the 1920s.
After half a day surrounded by old relics we decided to venture a little farther north to see one of our favorite castles, Dunnottar. We arrived in the late afternoon just as the sun was getting ready to set on the castle and it was truly magical. Afterwards we headed home and had a quiet day before heading on to our next adventure!
