Wow, can you even believe it! After months and months of talking about this journey, we finally made it!

After weeks of packing, we loaded up our SUV, said heartfelt goodbyes to our family, friends, and sweet puppy and made the two hour journey to Miami International.
Because of COVID, we had quite a long delay to check our baggage as we had to verify COVID test results, forms, and other documentation but we made it and breezed through security. Greg and I recently got our free Priority Pass membership with our credit card so we headed to the Turkish Airways lounge and had (too much) dinner and (too many) cocktails.

My amazing Mother-in-Law gifted us first class upgrades so we got priority boarding, pre-flight champagne, and the most delicious (I guess at this point third?) dinner and cocktails.
Greg, surprisingly, slept like a log while I stayed up all night watching Fantastic Beasts (1 and 2), thanks to two screaming children but I did get to watch the sunrise over the Atlantic and had a pretty delicious breakfast to make up for it!

After getting off the plane, we had to go through border patrol. Greg was able to breeze through the eGate while I had to stand in line for 45 minutes. I did have a nice little teeheehee with the woman at border security so that made up for it! With luggage in hand, we took a 45 minute Uber to the place where we would spend the next 5 days.. Elephant and Castle, London!
Let me tell you. We couldn't have picked a better location to spend a quarantine. This adorable two bedroom flat was literally nothing but windows on the outside.
We had gorgeous views of the city. Our flat was located on one of London's busiest roundabouts and the noise reflected it. It was so nice being able to hear the hustle and bustle of a real city again, something I haven't heard since I was last in New York like 12 years ago.
The location literally could not have been better! We were less than a mile and a half for pretty much all of London's major tourist attractions.
All in all, a very easy trip and I can't wait to share the rest of it with you all!
